Here's a game with some numbers instead of words for a change. The Magic Square is magic because it can be added upwards, sideways, downwards and diagonally and the answer is always the same. Each player draws a grid as if for a game of 'Noughts and Crosses' (three squares across and three down). In these squares he must write down the numbers 1 to 9 so that each line adds up to 15 — whichever way you look at it. The solution is:-
